The #1 Challenge for New Hypnotherapists—and How to Overcome It!
🎖️ So you’ve completed your hypnotherapy training and gained some great skills.
😓 You’re excited to be able to make a difference, but why does it feel so hard to find clients?
Many hypnotherapists get stuck in the early days, frustrated by the slow trickle of clients. Sound familiar? A recent survey showed that 97% of hypnotherapists actually gave up in their first year simply because they couldn’t attract enough clients!

There are a couple of problems that Jonathan and I see regularly:
1. Therapists are not professional marketers; they are experts at treating their clients.
2. The marketing advice from the various hypnotherapy schools rarely works. It’s grounded in the past and doesn’t get the internet.
3. Some training courses oversell and set very high expectations about salary prospects and timescales. For most people, these are not achievable without expert help.
A number of people I have met have taken a course and then given up work to start their practice. They have then gotten into financial difficulties when the clients don’t come in as quickly as they were told.
The toughest part of any business is not gaining your skills; it’s finding clients.
For most, it takes months—or even years—to build a steady stream of clients, leading to self-doubt and burnout.
Ultimately, the ones who succeed tend to seek help from successful hypnotherapy coaches. There are hypnotherapists who do make a good living and have a steady flow of new and existing clients.
